It’s safe to say that we adore this area of Los Angeles. It’s located between Culver City, Baldwin Hills, and Westchester, and is considered a quiet, secluded part of Los Angeles. It has a more suburban feel to it, and it’s far enough away from the traffic and congestion from the city. Most of this area is in unincorporated Los Angeles County, but a small section is considered the City of Los Angeles. It has a population of 6,498 and a density of 2,230 people per square mile. Its school system falls under the Inglewood Unified School District and Culver City Unified School District.

why we love ladera heights

Ladera Heights is a great location away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is most often described as a peaceful, quiet neighborhood filled with friendly people. It’s portioned into three different sections, Upper Ladera, Lower Ladera, and Old Ladera. It’s one of the few neighborhoods known for its original architectural design from the 1950’s. Most of the exterior houses are unchanged, and this quality is one of the many reasons that Ladera is an ideal filming location for many studios. It’s diverse in its culture, it’s one of the safest areas of Los Angeles, and it’s central to many of your favorite locations. One of our favorite ways to spend time here? Ladera Park. This park has an outdoor amphitheater, tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, picnic areas, and a recreation center.

DID YOU THAT LADERA HEIGHTS HAS A VERY COMPLEX CULTURAL HISTORY?

Racial covenants were a means of prohibiting buyers from reselling, leasing, or transferring property to members of a specific race. After racial covenants were lifted in the late 1940’s due to legality issues, many people of color and members of different religions were able to live in what is now considered “Old Ladera”. “New Ladera” was constructed out of custom homes by builders like Valentine and Fallant. Today, Ladera Heights is one of the most ethnically diverse areas of Los Angeles.
