Despite the traffic and the stress that comes with flying, we love LAX. It’s not only an airport, but also an art gallery that features temporary installations. It has some great restaurants and luxury shops as well. It was built in 1928 on fields of barley, wheat, and lima beans. It opened up as the Los Angeles Airport in 1941, then Los Angeles International Airport in 1949. Ever wonder how it ended up with the “X”? Prior to the 1930’s, airports used a two letter abbreviation, but the abbreviation expanded to three letters once aviation started to grow. The “X” has no real meaning attached to it.

CURIOUS ABOUT BUYING MARIJUANA ON YOUR NEXT VISIT TO CALIFORNIA?

While it is legal to have recreational marijuana, just like alcohol, it’s not legal to consume it in public places. It’s worth mentioning that even though most states (currently California, Oregon, Colorado, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Michigan, Missouri, Utah, Washington, Massachusetts, Alaska, Vermont, Maine, and Nevada) have legalized some form of marijuana, it is still illegal to the feds.
